Sunday January 8th 2012 Jubilee 7 v  1 Sherwin

Ryan Sm : Joseph:Will:Brad H:George: Ryan Mag:Beardo:Ryan Sa:Morgan:Brad P

First game of the new year gave Jubilee to get back onto winning ways against an improved Sherwin side.

1 Jubilee kick off downhill on a decent morning for  football. Ground  soft, no wind or rain.

2 Jubilee immediately set out with positive intentions attacking the Sherwin goal with  Morgan and Bradley P sniffing for their first chance.

3 Jubilees midfield dominant in the early minutes, with Josh and Ryan Sa in the centre ,flanked either side by Beardo  and Ryan Mag on the left . Only luck and Sherwins determined defence stopping Jubilee from starting the scoreboard moving.

5 Long ball over Jubilees midfield seemed to be the early Sherwin tactic. Easily dealt with by Brad H who strokes the ball inside to Will who moves it to George. This controlled , short passing football indicative of Jubilees season. Joseph taking up the left back spot and the ever dependable Ryan Sm in goals.

6 Chance! Morgan's shot flashing past the post .

7 With a strong bench of James, Zaak, Aiden and Stoney looking on waiting for their chance Jubilee strove for a goal. Jubilees  midfield easily overcoming sherwins with Ryan Sa and Josh winning all 50-50s.

9 GOAL!! 1-0! Jubilees superiority showed. Early possession must have been 75% in Jubilees favour and the deserved goal came. Beardo winning the ball well on the half way line , allowing Morgan to stroked a diagonal ball across the 18yard box. Josh on hand to do the  rest. His first shot deflected away by a determined goalkeeper but a left foot shot puts Jubilee 1 nil up.

13 Sherwin responded showed a bit of mettle attacking with long ranging balls into space for their forwards to run onto. ‘thou-shalt-not-pass’  Joseph stopping two chances down the right wing. George follows up with tenacious tackling on the other flank.

16 GOAL!! 2-0! Bradley P close ball control and movement in the 18yd box paying off. Leaving the defenders chasing shadows Bradley stroke the ball past the goalkeeper with ease. Interesting to note Brad’s goal made easier by Morgan's off the ball running, drawing   away two defenders.

22 Sherwins response was quick and again determined.  Forcing a free kick about 25 yards out well defended by Will, a rock at the heart of the Jubilee defence. Will clears to Beardo who moves into space with e ball clearing the danger.

25 Substitute Aiden on for Josh

29 Chance! George winning another 50-50 challenge with his superior strength and technique, moves forward with the ball inside to Aiden. Aiden through to Morgan onto Bradley P – just over the bar! Unlucky. Great play.

30 James on for Bradley P.

31 SHOT! Aiden fed a great ball by Ryan Mag, Powers a shot onto the bar from almost 35 yards. Defying his young age, a great shot, leaving , players and spectators a gasp and certainly the goalkeeper.

35 H.T. 2-0. Taking into account Jubilees dominance ,this could have been more but a good lead to take into the 2nd half.

2nd half

1 Substitute Stoney on for Joseph

2 A stronger squad allowed changes at half time. No change in the game pattern though Jubilee still dominating playing up the slope. James giving plenty of strength and movement  and Stoney taking up his position in a still very strong defence.

7 One of Sherwins few shots in the match easily gathered up by an alert Ryan Sm in goals.

9 A long distance shot attempts to catch Ryan Sm unaware - no chance. The goalkeeper plucks the ball underneath his crossbar

15 More good running by Ryan Mag. Down the  wing, his cross just blocked by a busy Sherwin defender.

18 Sherwin attempt to attack but an excellent tackle by Ryan Sa. reminded the visitors who was in charge. Jubilees players increase their speed and movement, whilst Sherwin struggle to keep pace with Jubilees pass-and-move. Ryan Sa releases the ball to Beardo ,evades a tackle then sets an attack going.

19 GOAL!! 3-0 Surely game over. More stunning pass-and-move left Sherwin staring at spaces. Aiden shrugs off an unwanted  visitor before laying the ball to James who strokes it into Georges path. George spots Ryan Sa. in space who brilliantly chips the on-rushing keeper from 15yds.

20 Substitutes Josh and Zaak on  for Brad H. and Ryan Sa. Josh moving into the centre back position marshalled by Will, and  Zaak in midfield.

21  GOAL 3-1 sherwin win a penalty . Ryan Sm in goals correctly dives to his right but the ball squirms under his arms.

21 Substitute James who put in a good solid shift with some strong tackling and helping create the 3rd goal replaced by Bradley P.

23 GOAL!!! 4-1 Wake the beast and it will bite.

Sherwins goal only served to spur Jubilee into action. Brad P. gathers the ball, 25 yards out, spins past 2 defenders. From inside the penalty box his shot ricochets away. Josh and Morgan ready to follow up in the edge of the box. No need -  Ryan Mag  puts the ball expertly away into the bottom corner past the despairingly goalkeeper. Excellent finish and a great way to get his first goal for the  club.

24 GOAL!! 5-1 A Rampant Jubilee taking every advantage of the now despondent visitors. Zaak making a strong impression in the middle of the park wins the ball and unselfishly puts Josh in on goal who makes no mistake getting his 2nd goal of the day.

27 A good period of pressure from Sherwin who still play with pride and passion cause first a free kick which Ryan Sm follows it carefully over the bar. Then after some good left wing play a shot blocked by Will. The resulting shot going wide.

30 Substitute Ryan Mag comes off to a good round of applause replaced by Joseph.

30 GOAL!!! 6-1 No stopping this one. Ade driving his foot through a free kick from 10 yards outside the goal area. The Sherwin goalkeeper bravely gets his hands to the ball, but there is only one result as soon as the ball is struck. Excellent  goal.

31   Morgan deep inside the Sherwin half plays an accurate ball to Brad . P.  Brad beats two players with the ball seemingly stuck to his left foot. Shoots inches wide!

33 Constant attacking from Jubilee

34 GOAL!!! 7-1  Zaak holds off a strong challenge before feeding Morgan with a precision ball . Morgan onto Brad P.   who does what he does best hammers home his 2nd  goal of the game with his trusty left foot.

35 F.T. 7-1!

Great start to the new year! Five different  goal scorers. All squad players contributing to an all round good performance. A fluid defence restraining almost anything that the visitors had to throw  at them, a dominant midfield and a clinical forward line.

Sunday December 11th Chellaston v Mickleover Jubilee

Ryan; Joseph; Ade;Brad;Stoney ; Ryan S. ; Zaak; Josh; Ryan M. ; Morgan ;Bradley

Subs : James; Beardo;

2 Belper  playing down a slight hill with a following wind, created the first chance of the game from a lofted cross-well stopped and gathered by Ryan Smith in goals.

Ryan, waits for his defence consisting of Stoney, Ade – back in defence, Brad and Joseph, to compose themselves before launching a goal kick to the half way line.

4 Jubilee counter-attack from good left wing play by Ryan M making his 2nd appearance, rolls the ball across the half-way line to Josh, who along with Ryan S and Zaak complete the midfield quartet. Attack snuffed out on the Chellaston 18yd line. Jubilee completed by a forward line of Bradley P. and Morgan.

5 CHANCE! Only excellent reading of the game by Ade blocks a certain chance from 6yds. Joseph follows up narrowing the angle   of a Chellaston strike. Just wide.

6 Jubilee struggling to maintain possession, are still camped in their own half.

8 Long ball through the middle catches Jubilee unawares. 1-0

12 Chellaston slightly getting the better of end-to-end   football. Tail- wind  in their favour this half. Game of 2 halves?

15 Good left wing play by Chellaston along with some extra muscle create a good cross. Ball slips along the muddy pitch through Jubilee’s valiant efforts land on the 6yd line. Easy- finish. 2-0

20 Time for a change. Josh in midfield swaps with Ade in defence.

22 CHANCE! Formation changes almost pay quick dividends after great passing football between Ryan S- Brad FAde- Morgan. Shot blocked.

25 Brad H. shows his old club what there are missing, expertly sweeping up twice in a minute. Without doubt chello’s loss. Jubilee’s gain.

27 Josh , unaccustomed to his new defensive role, gathers a loose ball on his own 18 yd line, moves forward gliding past 2 chellaston players moves the ball to Zaak on the half way line. Zaak  onto Ryan S. who skips past his tight-marking chellaston midfielder forcing a throw-in as Jubilee try to gain space in their opponents half.

28 SUBSTITUTE  James on for Morgan. James moves up front alongside Bradley.

29 GREAT SAVE! Chellaston’s dominance continues .Using the wind, their undoubted physicality and one or two interesting refereeing decisions chellaston look for a 3rd goal. Confusion in the Jubilee defence allow an excellent shot from 18yds, only good positioning and strong arms from Ryan Sm in goals keep the score at 2-0. A rasping shot forced over the ball by the alert goalkeeper.

30 Jubilee have had better days but a good strong run by Stoney on the right avoids a clumsy challenge by chellastons midfielder strokes an accurate ball inside to Ade. Ade plays a one–two with Zaak before unleashing a belting 30 yard shot. Just wide.

31 Jubilee play to their own strengths, keeping the ball from their much bigger counterparts . James-Zaak-Bradley pass-and-move typically of this new Jubilee side creating a half chance for Morgan.

32 Jubilee defend stoutly , firstly with Joseph stemming the Chellaston tide, then Brad H tidying up and sweeping the ball away to Ryan M. on the left wing.

33 Ryan Sm – well held from a dangerous chellaston right-wing cross.

34 CHANCE! Jubilee determined as ever to reduce the goal-deficit attack with Ryan Sa finding space inside the chellaston half. Ryan avoids strong challenges strokes the ball inside to  James. James links up with Zaak and Bradley who’s shot slips wide of the post on a very greasy surface.

35 H.T. 2-0.  Comments like “ two nil is a dangerous score” and “ we’ve got the wind behind us in the 2nd half” keep up hope for Jubilee.

However, chellaston must have been disappointed after a dominant 1st half only to be 2 nil up.

2nd Half

Changes at half time – James moves into defence swapping with Josh who moves into the strikers role.

3 A much determined and more organised Jubilee come out in the 2nd half, forcing  a chellaston defence onto the back foot. Only an offside flag stops an early chance by  Bradley P.

4 Jubilee depending on their own brand of short pass and move,  make the opposition look like statues. Ryan M. links up  with Ade in midfield. Ade chips to Joseph and a great header into Ryan Sa path forces a corner. Jubilee are hungry and up for a 2nd half battle.

7 An excellent corner by Joseph, nonetheless is gathered by chellastons much taller defence.

8 SAVE! Ryan holds well a tight-angled shot that surely would have finished the game in the home teams favour.

11 Bradley and Josh coordinate well. Zaak wins a strong challenge and a stunning pass from Bradley ,(better known for his finishing ability) into Joshs’s path 25 yards from goal. Josh gathers pace reading the excellent pass, but so had the chellaston goalkeeper who races out and gathers the ball gratefully.

15 “Next goal wins! “ is the comment heard from the crowd. Jubilee determined to make amends for a poor first half,  attack again.

18 Combatitive play from James and Brad H. win the ball inside their own 18yd box and an uncharacteristic long-punt put Ryan M. in with half chance. Good shot from 18 yards, just wide of the post.

20 Brad. H. having a great game  eases   a strong chellaston striker off the ball just before he pulls the trigger to fire toward goal.  Zaak picks up the rebound.

22 CHANCE!! Ade from 40 yards puts in a speculative ball from a free kick - just wide. Ryan Sa running in ready for any morsels.

23 SHOT! Ryan M. latches converts a good pass from James into a chance for Josh. Josh eases off an unwelcome visitor and  a powerful shot goes wide from distance.

25 Joseph then Stoney halt chellaston attacks down either wing .

26 Dubious free kick given to chellaston. However from over 40 yards it shouldn’t be a problem. Free kick launched then headed on for an easy chance to a gratefull chellaston striker to kill off the game. 3-0

27 Any chances of a win may have gone but the Jubilee spirit hasn’t  . Strong,  determined football by Josh and Ade . Both come out of two 50-50 challenges successful creating half chance for Bradley P who’s worked tirelessly upfront all game.

27 SUBSTITUTE Beardo comes on for Ryan M. Beardo makes a quick impact creating a half-chance for Josh who shoots from 25 yds. Good effort but just wide.

28 FREE KICK! Jubilee  get a rare free kick. Ade uses his immense power and fires the ball into the box, sadly no one pounces and the ball trickles to the very eager chellaston goalkeeper.

29 SUBSTITUTE Morgan on for Josh

30 More sustained pressure from chellaston , not content with 3, forces a corner after more great defending form first James then Brad H.

30 A second corner after Joseph then Ryan S. defend resolutely. Shot wide. Still three  nil.

31 Jubilee have a never say die attitude even on a bad day. Zaak wins the ball in midfield , knocks it to Ade, combines with Bradley forcing a corner.

31 CHANCE! Probably typifying Jubilees luck today, a predictably excellent corner from Joseph rolls along the home sides 6yd box and cleared to safety. Morgan and Bradley  both run in despairingly.

33 Just to prove it wasn’t meant to be Jubilees day. 4-0. A very strong challenge 20 yards from Jubilees goal line is overlooked by the official and the on-running chellaston striker possibly never has had such an easy chance.

35 Ade, with ice in his veins and anger in his heart picks up a ball from Stoney. A run which Steven Gerrard would be proud of takes him around 4 Chellaston  players as though they weren’t there forcing a corner. A positive  way to end a bad day at the office.

Following on from last weeks euphoria of reaching the first Cup Final, maybe this  game was always going to be difficult – and so it proved. With lynchpin Will missing from the heart of the defence, the overall dynamics of the team seemed to be affected. Jubilee finding their feet in the 2nd half but today it wasn’t to be.

Bring on Heanor!

Motto

Jubilee v Belper Sports Cup Semi-Final 4th December 2011

Belper kick off, up  hill.

Who was to come out top in this crucial cup match between two sides who had proved to be equal after previous 3-3 and 2-2 draws?

With a nasty cold day with a swirling wind, both teams put on a great example  of  football, neither team stopping until the final whistle.

1    With the wind against them a determined Belper side kick off up hill forcing an early attack that fizzles out. Jubilee supported from the sidelines by James, Zaak, George and Beardo.

2    Ade launches an almighty throw into the Belper area, aimed toward a forward line of Morgan and Bradley P. The rest of  a very strong midfield of JoshRyan S and new recruit Ryan M await around the Belper penalty area for a slightest chance to pounce on any opportunity. Belper goalie thwarts them all with a good, solid catch.

First chance of the game and a sign of things to come as the Belper no. 10 is put through into the Jubilee half, but slips giving the ball away. A Jubilee defence of  Stoney, Will, Brad H and Joseph shepherd the ball back to a grateful Ryan in goals.

6    A strong Belper attack down the left catches everyone unaware and a powerful  shot is cleared off the line by an alert and agile Joseph.

8    More intense pressure from Belper unperturbed by having to play up the famous Mickleover slope force an attack down their left wing. First Stoney and then a great tackle from Brad H, not for the first time halts the Belper tide forcing a corner.

9   Corner from Belpers left wing headed wide for a goal kick

10 A long goal kick from Brad to Ryan M. and some  quick link-play between Ryan S. and Zaak enables Josh to let off an long distance shot-saved only by the goalies legs.

11 Jubilees turn to pile on the pressure as a Bradley P. header causes turmoil in the Belper defence .

13 End to  end play , both sides looking for an early goal to break the dead-lock in as Morgan, Josh and Bradley link up looking for an opening. Bradley lurking outside the Belper  penalty area, tackled just as he pulls back his lethal left foot to shoot.

17 Jubilee crank up the pressure looking for that elusive goal before half time as first a right footed shot by Morgan spins wide. Straight after Jubilee force a throw-in and with Ades lethal throw the ball is deflected away for a goal kick.

20 Belper show why they’ve been so difficult to beat as they attack again down their left wing but an excellent saving tackle from Will halting their efforts.

21 Will and Joseph combine effectively to stop a Belper  attack just 6yds from the Jubilee left corner. Joseph follows up with a sweeping, slide tackle to clear the ball.

23 SHOT!!  Will    to crack a great shot from over 20 yards that just curls away at the last moment to miss the goalkeepers left hand post by inches. Goalie could only watch it go by.

24 Belper retaliate quickly forcing a good save from Ryan in goals.

26 Again Belper push for a breakthrough goal before half time, Ryan M  ‘jockeying’ the ball out for a throw.

31 Concerted pressure again from Belper, creating chances in the penalty box, first Ade stops a shot then Ryan comes out of his goals saving what was a certain chance from short distance.

33 Two more Belper corners , the first deflected out by Jubilee , the 2nd corner ending up with a good shot ,but just a little  high  and wide.

35 LATE EFFORT!  Jubilee  counter attack in the last minute . Great wing play by Ryan M. creating a difficult but last minute chance for Morgan.

35+ INJURY! Stoney down!. Appeared to have his foot trodden on and in these cold conditions , that’s gonna hurt. Stoney’s dad says he’ll get up. He does. HALF TIME 0-0

2ND HALF

Possibly the most important  half of both teams season begins with Jubilee kicking up hill. Zaak coming on for Ryan Mcguiness .

1 SHOT!!  Swift attacking lay down Jubilees right wing and excellent close passing  between Zaak and Bradley that has become the hallmark of Mickleovers football this season creates 2 early shots for Josh.

3 SHOT!!   More show of Jubilees intentions as the ball is skilfully passed the length of the field from Ryan in goals to Will. Will evades a forceful tackle slips it through to Ade. Ade holds off unwelcome visitors rolling the ball through to  Morgan who creates another chance for Josh, whos shot is deflected onto the bar!

3 SHOT!! Zaak receives the ball under pressure from Belper defenders but manages to unleash a great shot from 18yds , but the goalie is ready for it ,gathering it up.

4 SHOT! Surely a goal is coming as Jubilee pile on the pressure in the Belper half. Firstly another accurate corner from Joseph straight into the 6yd box , Zaaks header blocked then cleared . A 2nd  corner excellent swung in by Joseph causes anxiety in the Belper defence, leaving Stoney with enough space to calmly pass to Will whos shot narrowly misses the post.

6 Belper ,whos main source of play has been down their left, retaliate with some great forcing a shot from distance . Just wide!

6 CHANCE! There is a replay if this game ends in stalemate. However both teams are pushing for a win and the first goal is looking more and more crucial. Jubilee pass-and-move from Stoney in defence  via  Ade to Josh onto Morgan who sets up Bradley ,whos shot from 8yds is just cleared!

8 GREAT SHOT!! More attacking play as Jubilee win 50-50 tackles in midfield enabling Bradley to shoot from 25 yards……just inches over! Surely that goal is coming!!

9 CHANCE  Belper , show they’re equal to the task counter attacking straight from the goal kick with Sam. P. for Belper  firing inches wide as Ryan in goals gets down to his right following the ball inches wide.

12 A corner for Belper increasing the pressure on the Jubilee goal forcing another corner, safely gathered by Ryan in goals.

Just over 20 minutes left in this absorbing contest. Who  will blink first?

13 Jubilee breakaway down the right wing with Josh going on a run past two players. Supported as ever by Ade on the inside who slips the ball through for Morgan, who holds the ball up under scrutiny by two Belper players and skilfully knocks it into the path of Bradleys right foot, onto Ade . SHOT!! Just wide.

15 This match of equals still  end-to-end game with a great Belper chance, striker slipping as hes 15 yds out. Ball flies just over the bar. Narrow escape for the home side.

16 SHOT!! Another great interception by Brad Hefford, gives the strong Jubilee midfield chance to show their domination again as Ade puts a class through ball for Zaak, who shoots well, but a very good stop by the Belper keeper keeps the score at zilch-zilch.

16 Amazing one touch football between Morgan-Zaak-Bradley create a half chance for Zaak but the Belper defence say ‘not this time’.

20 15 to go and a replay looking likely as Belper break through the Jubilee centre and only a Tony Adams style clearance from Will keeps his side in the game.

20 Wills clearance giving chance for another Jubilee attack  , Josh heading wide.

23 JUBLEE PRESSURE! More link play between the Jubilee midfield players then Morgan through to Bradley who shoots just wide from 15 yards. Jubilee win the ball from a poor goal kick , great running from Morgan ,but an alert keeper collects the ball 18yds out.

25 GOAL!!!     Finally a breakthrough. Typifying Jubilees play from front to back, Will wins the ball in his own half, passes it on to Ade and a great through ball to Bradley. 30 yards it outpaces the stricken Belper defence, takes one touch then another and calmly strikes the ball past the despairing away goalkeeper! Ten minutes left. 1-0

27 Belper  looking for a quick reply shoot wide after some more good play down their right. This is not a team to give up.

30 Stunning triangular one-touch play between Zaak-Ryan S.-Morgan outwit a Belper midfield in close attention and more importantly keep possession with minutes to go.

31 GOAL!!! GOAL!!   Bradley shifts a through ball onto his clinical left foot , lobs the oncoming goalkeeper. One foot in the final! 2-0.

32 Belper , not a team to their credit to give in force a very good stop from Ryan. Surely that’s it for Belper?

33 GOAL!! GOAL!! GOAL!!  That is! Solid defending from Stoney ,retains the ball for Jubilee , a Josh-Ade combination forces the ball through to Bradley onto Morgan. Morgan in the right place at the right time , composes himself putting Mickleover Jubilee into their first final. 3-0

35 The final minutes drip away and for the first time against Belper  Jubilee players and management can relax and enjoy. Well  done  lads, you are ALL going to Wembley!!  (well…ok the ‘Bowl’ at Moorways) and Congratulations  Mark  and Darren!

p.s. a word for James/George and Beardo  whos attitude and support for their team mates, throughout the match was great to see. Your day will come.

Jubilee 2 - 2 Belper - 20th November 2011

1st half

Playing against a good Belper side who had held us to  a 3 all draw earlier in the season was always going to be  tight match and so it proved.

(1 min) From a Jubilee kick off in foggy conditions Belper forced an attack, kicking up hill, inside only to be caught offside by an alert defence of Stoney, Will, Brad and Joseph with Ryan S behind.

(3 mins) Shortly afterwards another Belper attack  led to the first corner of the match ably defended by Ryan in goals. Cleared to Josh in midfield who playing alongside Zaak , Ryan S and Ade in midfield  forced a corner.

(4mins) A great corner from Joseph into the penalty box where Morgan and Bradley were waiting, resulted in a goalmouth melee from which Ade’s cracking shot just over the bar from distance.

(7 mins)  More pressure from Belper who seemed to depend on long balls to their number 11 up front  but  Brads pace and guile  matched him throughout the game typified by a simply brilliant tackle on .

Ryans swift goal kick leads to a half chance for Zaakir and a shot from distance by Josh hitting the post and bouncing cruelly out.

A counter-attack by Belper snuffed out by some tremendous chasing and ‘jockeying’ by Will.

GOAL!!! (11 mins) Great inter-play from Zaak and Morgan down the right wing resulted in a goal by Bradley . Jubilee’s belief in their own  pass-and-move football paying off.

(20 mins) More combatitive play by Brad and Stoney at the back, stemming good counter-attacking play by Belper as they strove for an equaliser. Followed by an excellent save by Ryan palming well-aimed shot from a Belper corner.

(26 mins) The game ebbed and flowed, both teams striving for the next goal before half-time with half chances either way. Ade’s attack stopped by what looked like late tackle after beating 2 players on the edge of the Belper area.

Immediately followed by Joseph likewise pulling off a tremendous  tackle  stopping what would’ve been an attack down Jubilees left wing .

(30mins)  INJURY! the sad sight off  Ryan S limping off  with a knee injury wasn’t part of Jubilees plan but James came on and quickly caught up with the pace of the game with some cool passing.

The intensity of Belpers attacking force increased as half time approached  needing a great covering tackle by Stoney and further excellent covering and tracking back by Brad.

Two good saves by Ryan in goals finished the half. 1-0 Jubilee

2nd half.

Belper kicked off with a backdrop of mist creeping further onto the pitch but the first attack was by Jubilee , a ball by Josh , just too long for the ever hungry Bradley. A second goal by Jubilee may have been crucial but Belper were’nt lying down with the slope in their favour-a covering clearance by Ade keeping the score at one-nil.

CHANCE! After some great work by Morgan, Bradley beats the centre back and the goalie but puts the ball across the goal from a difficult angle. 12 inches away from being 2-0.

(10 mins)End to end play  forcing a good and then a great save from point-blank range by Ryan , determined to keep a blank score sheet James clears under pressure as Belper force the game downhill. 2 more corners ensue followed by the equalising goal 1-1. Good goal.

More excellent defending by Will stemming the flow of the Belper attack as both teams try and grab the 3rd goal. Bradley again beats 3 players after excellent passing by Morgan and James forcing a throw deep in Belpers half.

(18 mins)  GOAL! BUT NO GOAL! A shot by Belper  ruled offside by the eagle-eyed linesman means the  scores stay one-a-piece.

This seemed to give Jubilee further impetus, unfortunately hitting the bar after a magnificent chip over the keeper ( Morgan). Followed by a great shot by Ade which would have needed goal line technology as the Belper keeper scrambled  the ball away.

Beardo warming up ready to add bite to the attack.

(23 mins)   Determined and persistent chasing by Morgan forces a corner followed swiftly by another corner after a deflected shot by Josh.

GOAL!! 2-1 Jubilee. Surely Joseph has to be the best corner taker in the league . Consistently accurate in his corner-taking enables Zaak to score. Wonderous header.

George enters the field of play adding solidity to a great team. Belper attackers know it too as he chases unwinnable tackles putting  Belper players under constant pressure.

(27mins)   A great save by the Belper keeper stops Jubilee taking all 3 points as a stunning pass from Morgan gives Bradley a chance on goal.

With less than 10 mins left Belper can feel  the game slipping away but counter attack against a dogged Jubilee team. Another corner follows. Cleared by Zaak. Followed by more Belper pressure.

(29mins).  Belper finally getting the equaliser against the run of the play 2-2.

(31mins)  Beardo on for Morgan. Beardo quickly imposes himself on the game and after some good play by  Josh and Bradley  unlucky not to score.

More intense pressure from Jubilee playing to the last seconds deep into injury time, creating half-chances for the winning goal but the whistle beat them to it. 2-2.

Well played lads.

Looking forward to our next game with Belper already!

..and happy birthday Julie!

Field Lane 5 A Side Football Tournament - Saturday 20th June 2009

2 teams entered in the U10 section and with the sun beating down, both teams played superbly and made it to the quarter finals, with one team getting through to the quarters with a world class strike from Joseph to go through with a golden goal as our other team flooded the pitch to congratulate them. The other team went all the way and it was school boy dreams as Aidan who had been carried of the pitch in normal time after being kicked up in the air 3 times, coming back on in extra time to see if he could even run, and as the game was heading for penalties our captain led from the front and scored the golden goal winner and as the pictures show both our teams went wild!!!
